I grew up in the prairies in Alberta, Canda.  Learnt how to snowboard in a river valley.  Jibbing was the scene and in the DT streets I found my way into the industry.  The friends I met and kept along the way are the only reason I am where I am now.  Shredding became my life, working the summer away to be able ride all winter, no restrictions.  I soon realized Edmonton was just too small for a rider wanting to make a name.  First made the move to Kelowna, BC where I had welcoming arms from a shop called Freeride.  Being on the Freeride team was pivotal piece in my snowboarding struggle.  They made all my connections to the industry and got things rolling.  I then moved to Whistler, BC seeking out the best mountain terrain in Canada.  Now filming with the most motivated group of bros that make up Nuulife Cinema. I’ve now become addicted to sledding and the backcountry, as many do once they move out here.  The sea to sky corridor (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton) has endless terrain to explore.  That alone gives me so much motivation to get on my board every day I can.  Being able to see the lines and spots big names like DCP and Devun Walsh ride is mind blowing.  Mad respect for any who charge the backcountry like they do!   Contests push the sport to new levels where double corks have become the norm.  But there’s still nothing like a big poked out sw bs 540 stalefish on a 50 foot cliff.-Jay
