Servas ! My name is Mario Wanger, I’m 23 years old and I hail from Aschau in the Zillertal Valley. I work as a carpenter in the off-season, so I can snowboard all winter longGrowing up in Zillertal, I’ve got good parks to ride like Mayrhofen, Hintertux, Kaltenbach and Gerlos, and of course many of great pow days ! I started snowboarding on a small hill in my hometown of Aschau on Christmas 2003. My elder sister taught me how to turn and stuff, but I wanted more and broke my wrist trying to jump on my second day snowboarding.I was a little punk when I started, wearing studded belts and leather jackets like most kids at that time. I spent 3 years cruisin’ around in my local resort and I had a revelation the first time I went to the park in Mayrhofen where I saw these guys hitting the big jumps. I went to them and asked how they did it, they must have liked me because from that day on, I’ve been hanging out with the Zillertal dudes. I’m so stoked to shred with all my homies : Werni Stock, Tom Klocker, Benji Wetscher, Tom Wagner as well as Chris & Rudi Kröll from the Ästhetiker crew. We always pushing each other to the next step, and I think this big friendship is the amin reason, why I love this sport so much. I like entering a few contests here and there. My goal with snowboarding is simply to have fun and always find something new to try. Besides snowboarding I like soccer, golf and cycling.
