Well everybody, my name is Brett Esser and I’m 18 years old. I live in Breckenridge, CO. I was born in Dubuque, Iowa where the heart of snowboarding is. PYSCH! We did have a little hill in my hometown but it wasn’t very awesome. I grew up riding because of my older brother. He was an instructor at the mountain so one day I just started to ride when I was 7 years old. After a couple of years I just started to do local contests and then my brother found the USASA series so I started to do that up in Wisconsin. After that I started to compete more and more and eventually moved to Colorado. I moved to Colorado when I was 13 years old so I could pursue my snowboarding. I got on the U.S. Rookie Team last year after I graduated high school, and plan on snowboarding till I can no longer. What inspires me to snowboard is how fun snowboarding really is. It’s one big family out there and snowboarding will take you wherever you want it to take you!

Other than snowboarding, I love to skateboard, fish, camp, and travel. Skateboarding influences me just as much as snowboarding. Skaters such as Torey Pudwill, Luan de Oliveira, and Dylan Reider inspire me. My plans for this next snowboard season are stay healthy, shred as much as possible now that I’m out of high school. I want to get some good results in contests this year, get some more powder and shoot plenty of photos. In the next 10 years I see myself still doing contests, getting way more pow, shooting photos and filming for a snowboard part. What I like about being apart of 686 is the group of people that run 686 and the riders on the team. Everyone loves to shred and get stuff done. It’s super fun hanging and working for 686. The people at 686 are dope, they are always open to hearing what you have to say and that’s why riding for 686 is sick!
