Caroline Hwang was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved at the ripe age of one to sunny, Southern California for the warmth. Even as a kid, she enjoyed drawing and crafts more than she did studying. Caroline's work is influenced by crafts, graphic arts, quilting, films, music, among other things. She collages together fabric, thread, and paint to create images that communicate raw human emotion, self reflection, and the dynamics and difficulty of all relationships. She is currently working on widening her product line and integrating more quilting into her work. Caroline highly enjoys the company of her friends, family, and dogs. She also cherishes her Bernina sewing machine and monthly subscription to Martha Stewart Living. Caroline currently resides in Brooklyn, NY where she paints, stitches, prints and bakes, feeling extremely lucky that she enjoys what she does for a living.
