My work is a manifestation of my other self. The only way for her to appear on surface is through the images I create, through a painting or drawing. When people see her and feel a connection with her, it is as if her existence has been acknowledged and accepted. This keeps her alive. So my job is simply to give her a physical form every so often, and have her be seen and adored.
Audrey Kawasaki is a Los Angeles based painter and illustrator. Her works depict feminine and sensual characters with a dreamy, ecstatic, and at times a lustful feel. Audrey concentrates on the subtle features of female expression and figure. She often paints on wood, using the natural pattern as a base for her images. Audrey’s technique is a combination of traditional painting, along with a modern graphic illustrative style. She studied at Pratt Institute in NY for two years, and is now continuing to contribute to the growing Los Angeles art scene.
