About this art:

I've been calling this piece “Birdhouse” but its real name should be "Connected." This piece of art is about the connections we have with nature and our environment. I believe we are all connected to the world around us in more ways than we may ever realize.

Bio:

Caia Koopman is a California native. At University of California at Santa Cruz, Caia earned her B.A. in art, learned to skate ramps, pools, and Derby Park. Skateboarding led Caia to create skateboard graphics and her first limited edition team t-shirt design for a local skateboard company. After earning her degree, Caia became addicted to snowboarding and spent many winters following the snow. It was this love for snowboarding that inspired her to strive for a career creating snowboard graphics and later branched out to become a commercial artist. Caia's paintings have been used commercially for many years as graphics for snowboards, skateboards and wakeboards.

Caia's paintings tend to incorporate a connection between people and the environment, often including birds, bugs, snakes and flowers, inspired by color, dreams, nature, politics, and life. She loves beauty and color and tries to capture wisdom, knowing and a sense of mischief in her characters.
