Just made it back from a week long road trip – site-seeing, camping, snowboarding from MT. Hood, Oregon. It was an absolute blast and we got super lucky with the weather! Thanks to Tim we got to ride Windells Snowboard Camp, which was on point and Bryan at Timerline for a really fun Public Park! Check out a few photo’s!

Patrick McCarthy hits the Washington Coast for some surf and camping.

Coast8

Patrick McCarthy here; this weekend I decided to pack up the ride and head out to the Washington coast to see Lib-Tech put on there first surf contest. The weather was not looking so sunny and it did not disappoint. Although the wind was howling the rain was coming in sideways and the 55 degree July heat wave could not contain the beach stoke of the Northwest boarding culture. The event was amazing, Scott Sullivan played an epic show on the beach in the evening followed by beach cooking up some chicken and steak fajita’s (Why does food you make camping always taste better)? Any way its always important to remember the weather and the place you are can’t change your vibe you have the power over your mind enjoy life to the fullest!

Patrice Barattero rips it up and is hoping for Gold in Sochi!

July 12, 2012

Proietti

“We would like to introduce you to someone special : Patrice Barattero is a 40 year-old snowboarder coming from Nice in the South of France. You may ask yourself what’s so special about him, well think again : back in 1999 Patrice was hit by a car while riding his bike, resulting in amputation of his left leg. This terrible accident reinforced his determination to pursue his passion for boardsports, and in 2002 he started cooperating with a team of doctors and engineers from Chabloz in Grenoble at the development of the ProCarve, a new kind of knee prosthetics specifically designed for snowboarding.
After years of tests and hard work, Patrice wins his first European Para-Snowboard race in 2009. In 2011 he wins the Italian Open and places 5th at the Para World Cup, despite an injured shoulder. His goal is to participate at the 2014 Para Olympics in Sochi (Japan) with the new ProCarve2.

686 is very proud to support Patrice because he is an example for all of us who take doing normal things for granted and may complain about their lost smartphone or whatever they think is not cool. We can’t wait to see him racing for gold in Sochi.”
