BRAND NEW for 2012-2013. "From the ground up" was our goal whem we decided to create a new boot design. 686 and New Balance worked together to bring their MINIMUS® concept in barefoot running into snowboarding. The objective was to remove additional materials and weight of the boot, while maximizing the response of boot-to-binding performance. We also managed to increase stability with superior flex and leep a lower profile. Also included is NB's proprietary Abzorb® technology, "Quick-Strike" velcro strap and the patented SCL® zonal speedlacing system, making the 1971 our LIGHTEST model to date.
